But better than never. Day 63 or is it 64 of lockdown and I’m still trying to find my groove. That’s if I ever had one! Last Monday 4th May we saw the start of Phase 2 here in Italy. We’re still lying low, until the dust settles. In fact I’m probably more anxious now that restrictions are being lifted, but little has changed. We still have to have a self certification form, wear masks and gloves but the range we can travel has expanded to the region, i.e. Le Marche.
And on top of all that we’ve had several short, sharp tremors, which have frayed the nerves a little and I have been a little more than freaked. However, after stepping on a dead rodent left in the kitchen early on Monday morning I decided that things could only get better.
Where I’ve been @
@The Desk – well I’ve been ‘present’ but not much else. Actually that’s not true. As you will see from this post I’ve started publishing some of my short fiction over at My Writer Within. Most of the reads are under five minutes and my main aim is to share my writing. I’ve spent many hours submitting to oversaturated markets so I thought I’d take matters into my own hands. Let me know what you think!
@The Reading Table – I’m still finding it hard to concentrate but I’ve returned to some of my favourite, familiar authors. I’ve read The Day of the Vikings by J.F. Penn and have another downloaded for reading. I’m currently reading a trilogy, some of the first stories by V.E Schwab and manage at least three chapters at night.
@The Goggle Box – we’re still ploughing our way through Game of Thrones and have nearly finished series 5. It’s very horrific in parts but so watchable. And we’re still enjoying watching some of the free streaming that’s being offered from all kinds of places. As two of our regular programmes, Holby City and Casualty, are not being filmed right now, we’re thankful for the return of the A Word and the new series Normal People.
@Home – well I like being at home as long as the earth stays still! We’ve decided to restart our orto (vegetable garden) this year as we won’t be travelling in the camper van for the foreseeable future. The camper van which is now packed and ready to go if we get a big shake! We’ve also enjoyed a takeaway from our favourite restaurant, Agra Mater. We had a three course meal delivered free to our door for 37 Euro’s. It was delicious!

Oh and I almost forgot . . . we managed to get out on our first cycle ride in four months! The views are stunning around here as you can see. And much as I’d like you to think we are ultra fit riding bikes in this up and down area, I have to admit that we have e-bikes! But we still have to pedal 🙂
