One Month? But NaNoWriMo has just finished I hear you cry! It matters not. You can commit any time of the year to pinning that first draft down and this journal could help you do just that. And with a new year looming there is no better time to commit.
I’ve written historical fiction under the psuedonym of Louise Charles. I’m now venturing into the realms of fantasy and for that have decided to return to my roots and my own name.So I’m celebrating with a new website and I’ve designed a guided journal, First Draft in One Month, for those of you who just want to get that first sh*tty draft down.
If you started with good intentions but life just got in the way; or you didn’t even make it to the starting post, it matters not. There are plenty of opportunities to get on board. You can write a first draft (note I don’t say ‘novel’ and that is deliberate) any time of the year, any month you like. Even mid month to mid month. A time that suits you.
With a peppering of preparation and a dusting of determination you can get that story down on paper. It won’t be the polished production – neither is it meant to be. It’s a beginning, a framework and the feeling you get when you reach ‘The End’ is worth it.
This journal will give you space and suggestions for preparing to write your first draft any time of the year. It’s designed to be completed with minimal need for getting lost in the dark recesses of the virtual world we’re so dependent on. Give it a try. Tell me what you think.
Ciao for Now…
